Coming soon: Eleanor Longshanks - a storytelling tribute

Today in 1290 Eleanor of Castile was making her final tour of her Peak district properties. Last night she had been in Tideswell, and tonight she was a few miles on at Frith - now Chapel-en-le-Frith. This was probably owing to her failing health, which would lead to her death in November of that year. Eleanor's life and the procession after her death are being celebrated later this year by two very talented storytellers Sue MacMillan and Hannah McDowell. Starting on 28 November, the anniversary of Eleanor's death they will be taking their show about Eleanor's life along the path the cortege took.
